Wolfgang Valbrun

Wolfgang Valbrun, a New York-born singer-songwriter, found his musical path flourishing in Paris, France. Raised on a rich mix of musical influences from Bob Marley to Grace Jones and Haitian Kompa, his upbringing laid the foundation for his eclectic style. Moving to Paris as a teenager, he embraced new genres like soul, jazz, and hip-hop, shaped by artists like Erykah Badu and Gilberto Gil. A year in Venezuela further expanded his musical palette, introducing him to salsa, merengue, and calypso.

Back in Paris, Wolfgang joined the funk band Marvellous before becoming the lead singer for ephemerals, a soul band whose debut album Nothin Is Easy achieved critical acclaim. The track You Made Us Change, remixed by Kungs, became a global hit and brought Wolfgang to major stages like Victoires de la Musique. Collaborations with artists like French funk legend GUTS followed, showcasing his versatility.

In 2020, Wolfgang began writing intensely personal songs inspired by love, loss, and social change, culminating in his solo project Flawed by Design. Recorded with a stellar team of musicians, the album reflects his growth as an artist and will be released in 2024 under Jalapeno Records. This marks a new chapter for Wolfgang as a solo artist, bringing his powerful voice and storytelling to the forefront.
